  1. 1 cup long grain basmati rice
  2. 1 cup grated coconut
  3. 1 cup grated jaggery
  4. 4 tbsp ghee or clarified butter

  8. 3 green cardamom
  9. 3/4 cup dry fruits cashews, almonds grated and resins
  10. 5-6 saffron strands soaked in 1/4 cup milk
  11. 1 tsp cardamom powder

Instructions to make to make Narali bhat

  1. Wash and soak rice in water for 15 to 20 minutes.
  2. Heat pan. Add 2 tbsp ghee. Once ghee gets heated, add cloves and cardamom.
  3. Remove water from rice. Add soaked rice in pan. Saute for 3 to 4 minutes. Add salt. Add water. Cook completely.
  4. Keep rice in plate and spread it. Rice should be like in picture.
  5. Heat another pan. Add remaining ghee. Roast all dry fruits. Keep it on side.
  6. Add coconut. Saute for 2 to 3 minutes. To remove its moisture.
  7. Add jaggery. Mix coconut and jaggery together. Don't make it dry. Cook for 2 minutes. It will become little liquidy.
  8. Add cooked rice, cardamom powder and dry fruits. Keep some dry fruits to garnish rice. Cover lid. Cook for 5 minutes.
  9. Your satvik narali bhat is ready. Enjoy it on Raksha bandhan. We are having it with tiranga shabudana papad.
